I am a dreamer, a visionary, a pirate. My very veins, run are on 30% sea salt.
I, like so many others before me have this dream of new ports and new sunsets. A life full of the good stuff, if you will. It will be great meeting new friends every couple of days. Sharing life with my best friend and wife of nearly 26 years is now in full view of the bal pulpit. I want to 86 most of all my possessions. I want a small bungalow or apartment maybe condo. I don’t want to work in the yard ever again. It’s been well almost 26 years I have been prepping Deb on this Cruising life dream of mine. To be quite frank it’s a dead venture without her. I could no more set sail with out her than live with out her. She is the reason I love life the way I do. She has been in my life for almost forty years now, and I know why.
There have been many plans and many changes to those plans thru the years. The basics are the same just the how is different. Let me share some of my mission dream with you.
The was a 1 year plan that leads to a Two year plan that leads to a 5 and then a 10 year plan. The one year plan started last year.
I wanted Deb and I to start training and honing out boating skills. We have been boaters for many years now. But to sail, I need us both equally trained up of all positions so we can make short passages. She has already bushed back hard on passage making, which will come later ha-ha. She will need more W-D 40 if you know what I mean. She wants to keep land in sight. Some time on the short runs from Beaufort to Jacksonville will be a quick cure for this.
So I dint want to pay for lesions. I posted an ad on Craig’s list asking if anybody wanted to trade bright work for sailing Lessons. Low and behold, I got a reply. A charter company on Lake Lanier in north Georgia offered me just that. Work on my boats and you will be trained.
I will post the rest of my plan on another day.
